Job Title: Senior Applications Engineer Location: Fayetteville, AR Company: Ozark Integrated Circuits, Inc. Job Summary: The senior applications engineer at Ozark Integrated Circuits, Inc. (Ozark IC) is responsible for creating electronic device solutions for product efforts that are focused on the needs of commercial end users. This will require designing circuit schematics, completing hardware circuit layouts, hardware testing, and developing embedded software for application specific needs. The applications engineer will play a key role in the expansion of Ozark IC’s product development efforts and will need to develop circuit and module design solutions quickly to address application and customer needs. In addition to hardware and software design and testing, the applications engineer will also be heavily involved in new product development and product lifecycle management efforts and will assist in the assessment of new customer and product opportunities, feasibility, and risk analysis, and discussion of application needs with potential customers. Responsibilities include assisting in the generation of customer project proposals, understanding and managing market and product requirements, and creation of high-level system concept models and system architecture/functional block diagrams. Sr. Applications Engineer Key Responsibilities: Work with internal team and customers to map problems to Ozark IC solutions Design circuit architectures to control and support Ozark IC printed wiring board product efforts. Design circuit schematics, complete wiring board and other hardware layouts, complete assembly documents, complete hardware testing, and develop embedded software to support printed wiring board product efforts and application needs. Interact with product manufacturing personnel to determine necessary improvements. Complete lab based electronic product testing, troubleshooting, debugging, qualification for customer applications, device and component characterization, and realization of necessary improvements. Create customer centric solutions for new applications by defining application and product requirements and assess compatibility with Ozark IC’s computing module products and related technologies. Work with engineering to develop designs, block diagrams, bill of materials (BOMs), and drive product design reviews and validation testing, and provide recommendations on feasibility. Work with engineering, customers, and commercial partners to develop existing and new ideas and applications through productization. Develop test plans and protocols and complete functional testing of circuits and products along with completing semiconductor and device characterization over customer required environments. Utilize design for manufacturability, design for assembly, design for cost and tools and principles, and ensure adherence to a robust Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process. Support continuous product improvement initiatives. Communicate plans and results effectively. Provide technical reports and presentations to internal and external project stakeholders. Support junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and promote learning. Qualifications: Relevant bachelor’s degree plus 5 or more years of hands-on experience in electrical systems product development and testing. Higher-Level Degrees can count toward years of professional experience. Communication and interpersonal skills for internal and customer interaction. Circuit and printed wiring board design experience and EDA tool experience. Electrical device characterization and uncertainty analysis. Excellent oral and written communication skills for customer engagement. Superior analytical and problem-solving skills. Understanding of risk management.
